Mission
The World Neurology Foundation’s mission is to serve as a catalyst for
the promotion of neurological care and education in countries in need. The Foundation supports the mission of the World Federation of Neurology and other national and international neurological associations in accomplishing this mission.
Our work is guided by the hope that all children, families, and people of low-resource regions of the world will someday have access to cost-effective, quality neurological services.
Foundation Overview
Over the past 15 years, a growing body of epidemiological and clinical research reported by the World Health Organization, the World Bank, Harvard Medical School, and other institutions demonstrates a profound impact of neurological disorders on disadvantaged populations. As life expectancy in low resource countries continues to rise in the shadow of limited health resources, this is projected to grow, requiring expanded strategies including improved neurologic education, training, and practice. The World Neurology Foundation, incorporated in 1999 in partnership with the London-based World Federation of Neurology, is committed to supporting these critical activities.
Leadership
The World Neurology Foundation is fortunate to have guided by a 12 member volunteer Board of Directors, all accomplished neurologists and professionals with a commitment to serving low resource regions of the world. Valuable input comes from a 6 member advisory council, all highly accomplished international neurologists.
