Dr. Palestrant is the Director of Neurocritical Care and Director of the Stroke Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Johannesburg, South Africa. He graduated with a Medical Degree in 1996 from the University of Arizona. Dr. Palestrant has volunteered his time as a Neurology Instructor for Health Volunteers Overseas in Uganda, where he worked as a Neurology Instructor for Mulago University Hospital. He has also worked in hospitals in Arizona, California, and New York.

Dr. Palestrant is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Heart Association, the Neurocritical Care Society, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
